Perfect Mezcal for Cocktails
Verde Momento is made with 10-year-old agave Espadin by mezcalero Javier Olvera “El Che Burras” in Tlacolula, Oaxaca. The agaves are cooked in an underground oven using ocote, holm oak, and peppertree which give the mezcal a smokiness desirable for cocktails. After cooking for about 5 days, the agaves are tahona-crushed before being put into 1,500 litre fermentation vats. The natural fermentation can last from 7 to 30 days depending on the production season, the amount of rain, and variations in temperature. Finally, it is doubled distilled in a 500 liter copper still. This mezcal is has notes of grass, soft smoke, and fresh peach.

About the Producer
A PROJECT MADE WITH LOVE
Mezcal Amores is born from a trip amongst friends to the lands of Oaxaca its a project made with love for the people, the plant, the country and for the mezcal elixir. The main focus in providing high-quality, artisanal mezcal while at the same time applying the Mezcal Amores Philosophy. This Philosophy consists of working only with sustainably cultivated agaves, managing fair trade and redistributing a part of our net profit to the local communities. These commitments ensure a long-term relationship with producers, along with the preservation of the species and its biodiversity.
Mezcal is an alcoholic beverage that speaks of the land and the people who crafted it with absolute passion, making it probably the best expression of what is the “terroir”, perhaps on of the most complex and sophisticated in the spirit world. It is considered the oldest spirit of the Americas and there is evidence that supports that is one of the oldest in the world (first evidence of distillation around 400 years B.C).
