Collaboration with Marian Beke

The Gibson Edition is a collaboration with world-renowned bartender Marian Beke from The Gibson Bar in London. The Gibson Edition was inspired – like Marian’s bar - by the classic cocktail Gibson Martini. This Edition is a unique savoury style of Gin, using the 5 original Copperhead Classic botanicals of juniper, coriander seed, cardamon, angelica, orange peel and an additional 13 carefully selected spices traditionally used in pickling including mace, pepper, cassia, bay leaf, ginger, allspice, fennel and dill seeds. A touch of eight-year-old Genever is finally added to complete the smooth and complex taste. The Gibson Edition can be used for a pickled twist to cocktails, and also combined with premium tonic water to create a unique G&T with your favourite pickle as a garnish.

ORGANIC INGREDIENTS & EXPERTISE

Copperhead is made in authentic copper stills. Every distillation process is executed with passion and a high level of expertise. Copperhead organic botanicals are used for a first distillation. In this process, the botanicals are heated and release their complex signature aromatics. Signature juniper dominant taste with a hint of citrus flavour which creates a very soft and subtle gin.

COPPERHEAD

Copperhead refers to the copper bottle or more specifically to the copper alembic or pot still in which the earliest precursor to Gin was developed.

About the Producer

During the summer of 2013, the passionate pharmacist, Yvan Vindevogel, gets triggered by an article which tells the fascinated story of Gin. He has been a pharmacist for many years and one day he read that article about how Gin used to be used in medicine. He owns his own hotel in Belgium, so it is not surprising that he noticed the rise in Gins popularity all across Europe.

Copperhead brings the alchemist history of Gin back to the spotlight. For centuries alchemists were looking for their “Elixir of Life”, a way of extending life until eternity. During his pursuit, and much to his own surprise, he conjured up an exquisite composition, using a copper pot still and a recipe based on five essential botanicals: angelica, juniper, cardamom, orange peel and coriander seed. The medicinal effect of the juniper berries, which is the bases of every gin, is known since dawn, and was an extremely popular product as a medicine.
