Merlot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Muscadelle and Chasselas
The Blanc du Château Vieux Taillefer is a cuvée that revives the history of the right bank of Bordeaux. This blend of five different grape varieties, a singular wine blended in majority with Merlot Blanc. It comes from a plot located in Saint-Christophe des Bardes, on a limestone soil , in the heart of the Saint-Emilion appellation.
Grown from 75 year old vines. Today we own the only existing white Merlot vines of the appellation. This wine is the oldest white grape parcel in Saint Emilion, actually it is the only one that is not an artificial creation, but a testimony of the history and heritage of Saint Emilion, its soil is exceptional and its unique wine and rare. This blend is vinified and matured in slightly toasted new oak barrels from the Center- France region. Our barrels are 300 liters and shaped like cigars.
Year production: 2,000 bottles
The dress is beautiful bright with a beautiful light gold, it does not impose its aromas, everything is very nuanced, the floral notes are delicate, we recognize the chamomile, the acacia, it is a subtle blend. The palate is rich and sustained, very present, tasty, the fruity is pleasant, not aggressive and does not disturb. It is a very balanced wine, fat but not alcoholic, only 12.5%, nice final acidity, which shuffles the cards. An excellent white that leaves us with sensations of freshness.
